On this day 01/12/1967: Jimi Hendrix released his second album "Axis Bold as Love". It reached number 5 in the UK and number 3 in the US. The album was almost delayed when Hendrix left one side of the master tape in the back seat of a London taxi. Hendrix was not keen on the album cover that was chosen for the album that depicted the band as various forms of Vishnu. He felt it would have been more appropriate to have a cover that reflected his Native American heritage.
