On this day 16/10/1968
On this day 16/10/1968: Jimi Hendrix released the album "Electric Ladyland". It would reach number one in the US charts and number six in the UK charts. It would be the last album with Chas Chandler acting as manager and producer. Chandler was frustrated with the perfectionism of Hendrix and his demands for retakes. For example, Hendrix and Mitch Mitchell recorded well over 50 takes of "Gypsy Eyes" over three sessions. The control room was also overcrowded with various friends and guests. The album is considered by many critics to be the best album that Hendrix produced.
