On This Day 29/01/1964: The Beatles recorded German vocal versions of their hits "I Want to Hold Your Hand" ("Komm, gib mir deine Hand") and "She Loves You" ("Sie liebt dich"). They were recording in EMI's Pathé Marconi Studios in Paris. The only time they recorded outside of the UK for EMI. They had to re-record the instrumental parts for "Sie liebt dich" as the original recordings had been destroyed. It took them 13 takes to record the instrumental parts. Also in the recording session, they recorded the new song "Can't Buy Me Love".
